I was playing around with die cuts and decided they were a great option for cardmaking.

2 cards using the same die cut. Different colours & mood.

I added some die cut flowers here. Ribbon from May Arts. Brad, sassafras. Circle punch, EK. Stickles around the circle edge. Pearls to highlight little white circles.

Bazzill Basics swiss dotted cardstock in Pink.

It’s tricky for me to find lettering small enough for cards. Here I used American Crafts thickers on both cards. Hmmm, any ideas?

Some tools I used in the process. Bone folder & steel ruler for folding & scoring.

Distress ink & foam from Ranger. (Gotta distress everything !)

flowers (still!!) all kinds, especially with lots of dimension… had loads of fun playing at the crop today, and even when everyone left!

It’s been a year since we closed the island store. so much has changed in our lives, and in yours, I would imagine.
Up, down, down , up, that’s the way life goes but I’m sure if you’re a scrapper, as you sit and look back, you would say, that it’s been good. =)
I was looking through old projects, deciding which to bring to the store to display and an unexpected gush of emotion answered the question I asked myself, yesterday morning, as I climbed the stairs to another new chapter in the smidapaper story. “Why on earth am I doing this?”

I looked through the pages. At the time I made them, it may have been hard work, I may have rushed through , wanting to finish. But today, they reminded me of the reason why. That so much more than the art, and the business. The pretty products . The faces & moments captured. Scrapbooking is the story of our lives!
I wanted you to know that I’m really happy to be able to help you to tell your story.
